Irma L. Knight, formerly of Bettendorf, Iowa, has left us to be with the Lord, on Sunday, May 27, 2012 peacefully surrounded by her family at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  She resided in Elkins, Arkansas at the time of her death.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Bettendorf, Iowa where she was a member. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery in Maquoketa, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.

Irma attended and graduated from Maquoketa High School in 1954. She resided in Maquoketa, Baldwin, Grand Mound, and Bettendorf areas and moved to Washington County, Arkansas area with her husband, Jack A. Knight, in 1994 where they retired.

She was a Girl Scout Leader, worked as a waitress, nurse’s aide, and several years of Great River Bend Transit, serving the elderly, handicapped and Head Start children, starting as a driver and ending with the position of transit coordinator which was her most loved job.  Her hobbies were traveling, baseball games, sewing and crafts.

She is survived by her husband, Jack A. Knight, Jr.; daughter, Carol McDermott of Bettendorf; granddaughter, Tisha K. Anderson, Bettendorf; step-children, Jack Knight III, Julie Weston, Joe Lee Knight, Janell Morton and Jason C. Knight; her sisters, Loretta Clark, Virginia Dubreuil and Jessie Knight; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and cousins mostly in the Iowa and Illinois area.

She was preceded in death by her only son, Sterling C. Clark, Jr.; her former husband, Joseph Schaab; a step-son, Terry Schaab; her father, Paul R. Current; her mother, Zelma Current Duncan Scott; two sisters, Marilyn Willison and Kathryn Risinger; her grandparents, Amy and George Hollopeter and Fortis and Jessie Current; and many aunts and uncles.
