Irma E. Van Besien, 98, formerly of Bettendorf, died Friday, May 9, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Center in Davenport.
Funeral Services & Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Good Samaritan Society.
Irma was born June 5, 1915 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Theophil & Ida Wullaert. She was united in marriage to Albert E. Van Besien on July 19, 1947 in East Moline, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 8, 1983.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter & son-in-law, Susan & Gregory Schultz of Wauconda, Illinois; her sons and daughter-in-law, Leonard Van Besien of Davenport and Donald & Sue Van Besien of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Van Besien of Bettendorf.
In addition to her husband, Irma was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Steven Van Besien; and her sister, Judy Couri.
