Jack L. Brown, 74, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Thursday, September 01, 2005 at his home following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 3. 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Genesis VNA Hospice or to Gilda’s Club of the Quad-Cities.
Mr. Brown was born July 8, 1931 in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son of Jack L. & Fern (Hale) Brown. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was united in marriage to Kay E. Vignocchi on February 15, 1973 in Gardner, Illinois. Jack & Kay moved to the Quad-Cities that same year.
He retired from civil service after 30 years as an Ammunition Inspection Specialist. His career took him to many foreign countries and to all 50 states.
His greatest passions were for art, photography and traveling. He was a devoted husband, father & grandfather who will be remembered everyday.
Survivors include his wife, Kay of Bettendorf; his step-daughters, Linda (Robert) Phelps of Hiawatha, Iowa and Lisa (Daniel) Briner & their son, Joseph Briner, all of Dwight, Illinois and numerous uncles & aunts in Grantsville, Utah.
Jack was preceded in death by his father, Jack; his mother, Fern; and his step-father, Joseph Wilson.
