Jackie Banks-Johnson

Jackie S. Banks-Johnson, 67, of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, December 13, 2018 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Pigs Peace Sanctuary. (pigspeace.org)

Jackie was born December 3, 1951 in Rock Island County, the daughter of Donald & Betty Lou (Johnson) Vance.  She was united in marriage to Nathaniel C. Johnson on March 5, 2005 in Davenport.  He preceded her in death on November 8, 2010.

She had been a Dietary Supervisor at Oak Terrace in Davenport and she had worked for Dollar General in Davenport and Bettendorf for several years.  She enjoyed family gatherings and holidays.  Her son, Michael was the joy of her life and she was the most unconditional loving person in her family.  She loved attending Westside Assembly of God Church in Davenport and had a strong feeling and spirit for the Lord.

Those left to honor her memory include her son and daughter-in-law, Michael & Kristy Gomez of Davenport; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Jody & Rich Ortega of Pleasant Valley and Sheila & Frank Carrillo of Davenport.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
