Jackie Kinkaid, 84, of Montpelier, died Wednesday, February 08, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center, in Davenport after a long battle with cancer.
A graveside service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at Montpelier Cemetery in Montpelier. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the family.
Jackie was born September 17, 1927 in Ava, Missouri, the daughter of Clarence and Gladys (Freeman) Kunze. On February 2, 1962 in Rock Island, IL, Jackie married David Kinkaid.
Mrs. Kinkaid was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, David; one daughter, Sandy (Dave) Whitesell of Milan; two sons, Tim (Julia) Kinkaid of Davenport and Nick Kinkaid of Montpelier; step-daughter, Pam (Lonnie) Hartema of New Hartford, IA; step-son, Russell (Mary) Kinkaid of Cedar Falls, IA; eight grandchildren, Jina Denney, Jason Denney, Shalyn Kincaid, Petie Coffman, Chad Denney, Shawn Helble, Justin Kinkaid and Logan Kinkaid; six great-grandchildren; and many step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Beulah Hitchcock of Buffalo, Connie Grisham of Mountain Grove, MO, Bonnie Sawvell of Buffalo and Donnie Guldenpfennig of Plano, IA.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert; two brothers, Raymond Kunze and Ronald Jones.
