Jacqueline L. Graves, 82, of Davenport, entered the Church Triumphant on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at Risen Christ Lutheran Church in Davenport where she was a member. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to benefit Yadley Israel and mission work to aid Haiti.
Jacqueline was born September 3, 1929 in Amelia, Ohio, the daughter of Rev. George & Christina (Griffith) Reed. She was united in marriage to Rev. William R. Graves on July 16, 1950 in Marysville, Ohio.
Jacqueline’s faith and love of the Lord was very strong. She was a Sunday school teacher for many years and was the Church Secretary at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Davenport. She had also volunteered at grade schools over the years. Her love for her family and her husband allowed her to support him through various congregations over the years.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband of 61 years, Richard; her daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy & Craig Franzeen of Guthrie Center, Iowa, Lisa & Michael Botz of Davenport and Becky & Bradley Harper of Bettendorf; her sons, John Graves and Carl Graves, both of Davenport; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Joan Rittenhouse of Delaware, Ohio and Marilyn John of Marysville, Ohio.
Her parents preceded her in death.
