Jacquelyn Joy Pischke, 77, of Park View, Iowa, died Saturday, November 20, 2004 at her residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 1, 2004, at Edwards Congregational Church, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport. Memorials may be made to Genesis VNA Hospice or Edwards Congregational Church. Chambers Funeral Home, Eldridge is assisting the family with arrangements.
Joy was born November 12, 1927 in Eldon, Missouri. She grew up in La Crosse, Wisconsin and attended Central High School through eleventh grade. Her family moved to Davenport on July 7, 1944 and she graduated from Davenport High School in June, 1945.
After graduation, she attended Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa and later worked as a secretary for the Ralston-Purina Company in Davenport.
Joy met Bob Pischke while attending high school in La Crosse and they were married April 12, 1947 at Edwards Congregational Church in Davenport. She enjoyed being a homemaker.
Joy was preceded in death by her father and a granddaughter. She is survived by her husband and their three children; John Pischke and his wife, Pam, of DeWitt, Iowa; Richard Pischke and his wife, Julie, of Key West, Florida; and Jane Collins and her husband, John, of Davenport. Joy also leaves six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was also a 50 year member of P.E.O. Chapter G.W.
Her family and friends will miss her quiet, yet sparkling personality.
