Jalois Crotty

Jalois B. Crotty, 75, of Eldridge, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Center in Davenport.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 on Friday, February 28, 2020 at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Eldridge.  Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the church.  Memorials may be made to Lancer Productions or to the Eldridge Lions Club.

Jalois was born February 14, 1945 in Clarion, Iowa, the daughter of John & Bena (Dutcher) Van Haaften.  She was united in marriage to Larry L. Crotty on December 27, 1963 in Belmond, Iowa.

Jalois was employed with the Scott County Library System as head of Technical Services, retiring in 2007 after over 30 years.  In earlier years, she had been a Certified Nursing Assistant and associated with VNA Hospice.  She had proudly been the head seamstress for North Scott Lancer Productions and was an active member of the Eldridge Lions Club.  Affectionately known as “Glitter Mama”, she will be remembered as a mom to everyone, always willing to lend a hand.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Larry; her daughters and sons-in-law, Beth Vaske & Brian Dickerson of Stanwood, Iowa, DeAnna & Lloyd Axtell of Mount Joy, Iowa, Angela & Andrew Rhodes of DeWitt, Iowa and Renae & Richard Mohr of Donahue, Iowa; her grandchildren, Devin Looney, Jessica Atkins, Skylar Vaske, Dakota Vaske, Joshua Axtell, Jonathan Axtell, Adelaide Rhodes, Asher Rhodes and Eddie Mohr; and eight great-grandchildren.

Jalois was preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Verlan Van Haaften and Arland Van Haaften.
