James Herbert Schlump, 64, a resident of LeClaire, died Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in LeClaire. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23 rd at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Presbyterian Church in Argo.
Jim was born on July 25, 1949 in Davenport, the son of Herbert and Violet (Fletcher) Schlump.
Jim was a 1967 graduate of Bettendorf High School. He was a tool and die maker for many years. Jim enjoyed fast cars and motorcycles.
Those left to honor his memory include his brother, John (Laurel) Schlump of Charles City, IA; nieces, Lisa (Derek) Ball of Davenport and Dr. Leslie (Chad) Mentele of Johnston, IA; nephews, Scott (Christine) Dreher of West Des Moines and Chris Ryder of LeClaire; and many grand-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joel Schlump.
