James Smith

James (Jim) Andrew Smith, 42, of Davenport, Iowa passed away on August 17, 2018 due to complications of diabetes.  A funeral service will be on Friday, August 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Berean Baptist Church in Davenport.  There will be visitation prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.  A private burial will follow at a later date.

Jim was born on September 18, 1975 to Jack W. and Patricia A. (Morris) Smith.  He attended schools in Davenport, Fort Madison, and Bettendorf.  He graduated from North High School in Davenport in 1994. He enjoyed time playing games and listening to music with his small circle of friends whom he loved.  As well as time spent with his cat, Freak. He was an avid reader and had an impressive memory. Jim will be remembered for his kind and loving nature, his quirky sense of humor, and that twinkle in his eye that indicated he had something mischievous to say.

Jim is survived by his mother, Patricia Smith of Davenport; his sister, Laurie Mohr (David) of Clinton, Iowa; Nieces Kristen Byers and Rachel McLarnan both of Clinton, and Nephew Aaron McLarnan of Cascade, Iowa.  He had six great-nieces and nephews, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles, particularly his Aunt Sue Morris of Davenport who often asked him to visit and have a meal.

He was preceded in death by his father, an infant brother, Kenneth Brian, Uncle Jim Morris, grandparents, and a great niece.
