James A. Manning, 39, his children, Austin Tylor Manning, age 11 & Caralyn Grace “Cari” Manning, age 7, residents of Victoria, Missouri died on Thursday, January 1, 2009 after a fire at their home.
A service to celebrate their lives will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire, Iowa. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.
James was born November 19, 1969 in Silvis, Illinois, the son of Jim & Shirley (Daniels) Manning and was a 1988 graduate of Pleasant Valley High School where he was an outstanding baseball player. In earlier years, James was a member of the LeClaire Baseball League and was a devoted & dependable carrier for the Quad-City Times. During his school years, he was an active member of the Awana classes at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bettendorf. On May 3, 1997, he was united in marriage to Deena Marie Ford at Pioneer Village, Walnut Grove, Iowa.
James was employed as an electrical technician for Tech Electronics of St. Louis, Missouri and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union, Local
#1.
He was an avid bowler and coached Little League Baseball for 5 years. He also loved to go fishing and was a devoted father & wonderful husband.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Deena; his mother & step-father, Shirley & Brian Ballard of Bettendorf; his father & step-mother, Jim & Vicki (Alden) Manning of Maquoketa; his step-son, Brent Hawley of Victoria, Missouri; his brothers, Jeff (Cindy) Manning of Coralville, Iowa and David (Stacy) Manning of Bettendorf; his grandmother, Arlene Manning of Maquoketa; his nieces, Jessica Manning & Julia Manning of Coralville; and many other relatives & beloved friends.
In addition to his beloved children, James will be greeted in Heaven by his grandparents, Fred & Vera Daniels and Lloyd Manning.
Austin Tylor Manning was born March 5, 1997 in St. Genevieve, Missouri and was a 5th grader at Hillsboro Intermediate School in Hillsboro, Missouri. He loved baseball, was a member of the Cub Scouts, loved riding his bike, enjoyed fishing & music and was to receive a citizenship award from his school following the Christmas break.
Caralyn Grace “Cari” Manning was born February 24, 2001 at St. Genevieve, Missouri and was a 2nd grader at Hillsboro Primary School in Hillsboro. She loved animals, especially her kitties, enjoyed music and was a well-mannered & angelic little girl. She was active in t-ball, soccer and was a friend to all.
Those left to honor Austin & Caralyn’s memory include their mother, Deena; their grandparents, Shirley & Brian Ballard of Bettendorf; Jim & Vicki (Alden) Manning of Maquoketa; and Jo Ellen Ford of Davenport; their step-brother, Brent Hawley of Victoria, Missouri; their great-grandmother, Arlene Manning of Maquoketa; and many aunts, uncles & wonderful friends.
In addition to their father, they will be greeted in Heaven by the grandfather, Robert Ford and their great-grandparents, Fred & Vera Daniels and Lloyd Manning.
The Manning family were members of the First Baptist Church of St. Genevieve, Missouri.
