James R. Stambaugh

James R. “Jim” Stambaugh, 59, a resident of Rock Island, Illinois died on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 at his home after a year-long battle with cancer.
His funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 7, 2005 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf, Iowa. Burial will be in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his family.
He was born July 31, 1946 in Schuyler County, Illinois, the son of David & Velvia Bell (Jennings) Stambaugh. On November 22, 1966, he was united in marriage to Jill McLaughlin in Moline, Illinois.
Jim retired in 2004 as a machinist for the Case New Holland Company of East Moline, Illinois where he had been employed for 25 ½ years. He had also worked for Roadway Express for 5 years.
Jim’s family was the light of his life and he was especially fond of his beloved grandchildren. During his leisure time, he enjoyed cooking and watching movies.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jill; his daughter & her husband, Becky & Mike Moon of Savanna, Illinois; his son & his wife, Ricki & Lindsey Stambaugh of Rock Island; his grandchildren, Carson & Makenna Moon and Lexus & Orion Stambaugh; five sisters; and one brother.
Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Stambaugh; two brothers; and by his parents.
