Janet Kay Mangels, 49, of Eldridge, passed away Monday, December 5, 2016 after a five year battle with cancer.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Born on November 12, 1967 in Dillon, South Carolina, Kay was the daughter of Albert Marvin and Mildred Glenn (Jarman) Howard. On December 30, 2004 in Rock Island, she married Ross Mangels.
Kay was a stay at home grandmother. She enjoyed helping at her grandchildren’s schools and cooking. Kay never met a stranger, always outgoing and helping people.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ross; daughters, Chrystal Stroud of Kinston, North Carolina and Tabatha (David) Baldwin of Eldridge; grandchildren, Hailie Howard, Alannah Coutts, Brooke and David Baldwin, Jr., Kaiden and Payton Reynolds and Jeremy Miller, Jr.; six sisters and six brothers; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and two sisters.
