Janice Levsen

Janice E. “Jan” Levsen, 63, of Montpelier, Iowa passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Saturday, August 27th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family or to King’s Harvest Pet Rescue, Davenport.

Jan was born May 13, 1959 in Davenport, the daughter of Archie and Jeraldine (Fahrenkrug) Gaskey.  She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Trinity Lutheran Church, Davenport.  She graduated Davenport Central High School in 1977 and continued her education at Scott Community College where she earned her associates degree in early childhood development.  Jan married her high school sweetheart, Rod Levsen Jr. on February 29, 1980 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Davenport.  In her earlier years she worked for the Scott Co. YMCA.  She and her husband worked for the family business, Levsen Organ Co., where Jan served as office manager.  She enjoyed scrapbooking with her friends and attending their monthly scrapbooking meetings.  Jan was a member of the Montpelier Fire Department Auxilary.

Those left to honor her memory are her husband, Rod Levsen Jr. of Montpelier; her mother, Jeraldine Gaskey of Davenport; her children, Sara Alvidrez of Wapello, Iowa, Jennifer (Stephie and Vanessa) Levsen of Muscatine, Iowa, and Andrew Levsen of Muscatine; four grandchildren, Kyle, Gabriel, Lukas, and Micah; her brother, Gary (Jackie) Gaskey of Silver Springs, Florida; her parents-in-law, Rodney and Colleen Levsen Sr. of Davenport; several nephews; and her close friends from The Birthday Club, scrapbooking club, and the Montpelier Fire Department.

She was preceded in death by her father, Archie; and her brother, Larry Gaskey.
