Jay B. Bryan, 97, of Davenport, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the Crest Health Center in Davenport, one week before his 98th birthday.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, February 15, 2013 at Davenport Memorial Park. There will no visitation or funeral. Memorials may be made to the Koenig Center at Ridgecrest Village in Davenport.
Jay was born February 18, 1915 in Mercer, Missouri, the son of LeRoy & Nell (Hill) Bryan. He was united in marriage to Estelle I. (Barritt) Hunt on Davenport in 1986. She preceded him in death on July 31, 2007.
Jay retired from General Motors in 1974. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 31 in Kansas City, Kansas. Other memberships included Pleasant View Baptist Church in Bettendorf, Hamilton Lodge #664 in Bettendorf, the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, the Kaaba Temple Shrine and the Moose Lodge #28 in Davenport.
His hobbies were reading and politics. He also loved to kid and joke around with his family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his son, Barry Bryan of Texas; his step-sons, Conrad (Beverly) Mock of Davenport and Courtney (Carol) Hunt of Pleasant Valley, Iowa; two grandsons; four step-grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Estelle, Jay was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lee.
