Funeral services for Jeannette M. (Baumbach) Ward, 77, of Bettendorf, Iowa will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Family will greet friends on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Jeannette passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf.

Jeannette Baumbach was born on November 5, 1945, in Davenport, Iowa, the daughter of Arnold and Gladys (Hansen) Baumbach. She married Donald Larue Swearinger Sr. in 1964 in Moline, Illinois, they were later divorced. She then married Harry Ward on July 3, 1993, in Clinton, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2001. She worked as an accounting and payroll clerk for Utility Equipment Company, Bettendorf for 25 years, retiring in 2014.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pleasant Valley, Iowa. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and spending time with old friends.

Survivors include her daughter; Trish (Matt) Penca of Geneseo, Illinois; son, Donald (Heidi) Swearinger Jr. of Davenport, grandchildren, Justin (LeAnna) Swearinger, Jackson Swearinger and Jonah Penca; special friend, Marsha Brown of Conyers, Georgia; her dear friend and cousin, Nyle LaGrange of St. Cloud, Minnesota; and her close friend and niece, Carol Reding of LeClaire, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and siblings, Carol Stark, Elizabeth Bailey, Richard Baumbach and William Baumbach.
