Jean S. Boitscha, 92, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Pleasant Valley, Iowa died on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Bettendorf Healthcare Center.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at St. James Lutheran Church of Bettendorf. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. Memorials may be made to St. James Lutheran Church where she was a charter member.
She was born March 23, 1917 in Pleasant Valley, the daughter of Carl D. & Ida B. (Stee) Johansen. On June 20, 1936, she was united in marriage to Herbert “Duke” Boitscha in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1985.
Jean was a homemaker, a former member of the Women of the Moose #106 and a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxillary.
She & her husband loved living and houseboating on the river. Jean also took great pride in her yard & garden.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews & cousins.
In addition to her husband, Jean was preceded in death by her sister, Ramona Johansen and her brother, Don Johansen.
