Jeffrey Michael Davis, 38, a resident of San Antonio, formerly of Eldridge, passed away January 27, 2015 at Southwest General Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
A Memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the “Jeffrey Michael Davis Memorial Fund” in care of U.S. Bank for the benefit of his son. Per Jeff’s wishes, his body has been cremated.
Jeff was born on August 14, 1976 in Booneville, Mississippi, the son of Dr. H. James Davis, Jr. and Joyce (Wiemers) Davis. He attended school at Baldwyn, Mississippi, North Scott in Eldridge, Tupelo, Mississippi and Scott Community College. Jeff had been a manager and trainer for several restaurants. For the last four years, he worked in graphic design at Colour Solutions, Inc. in San Antonio. Jeff loved his son dearly and was a very hands on father. His son brought so much joy to Jeff’s life. Jeff loved fishing and enjoyed most outdoor activities. He was a very talented craftsman and an avid Steelers fan. He loved spending time with his nephews and taking them on outdoor adventures. Jeff had a heart of gold, a huge smile that would light up a room and will always be remembered by all for his awesome bear hugs. He will be missed by so many and may his memory live on through his son who has Jeff’s beautiful smile.
Those left to honor his memory include his son, Jeffrey Michael Davis, Jr. of San Antonio; his mother and step-father, Dr. Joyce (Michael) Venker of Eldridge; siblings, Lori (Eric Collins) Henzen of Milan, Jill (Mark) Sutter of Bettendorf, Gregory (Kim) Davis of Davenport, Lissa (Jeff) Bricker of Morris, Illinois; step-sister, Michelle (Doug) Venker-Caenepeel of Springfield, Missouri; half-brother, Hank Davis of East Moline; grandmother, Marjorie Wiemers of Eldridge; niece, Laken Werner of Ecru, Mississippi; nephews, Alex Henzen of Bettendorf, Jaxson Sutter of Bettendorf, Ethan Davis of Davenport and Isaac and Will Bricker of Morris, Illinois; best friend, Nate (Jaime) Noel of Eldridge; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; maternal grandfather, Sidney Wiemers and paternal grandparents, Henry and Mary Davis.
