Jerilyn L. "Jerry" Wells

Jerilyn L. “Jerry” Wells, 64, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Wednesday, July 26, 2006 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus in Davenport, Iowa after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, July 29, 2006 at the Bettendorf Christian Church where she was a member. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
She was born November 13, 1941 in Davenport, the daughter of Lester & Maxine (Bracken) Shorey. On April 29, 1959, she was united in marriage to Ron Wells in Muscatine, Iowa.
Jerry owned & operated “Jerry Wells Quality Upholstery & Seamstress.” She was also a professional archer for many years.
The “Whispering Angels,” support group for cancer survivors was started by Jerry to be of help to others.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ron: her daughters, Tammy Klauer of Davenport, Ronda Pedersen & her husband, Kevin of Des Moines, Iowa and Becky Wells of Bettendorf; her son, Rob Wells & his wife, Shelley of Ankeny, Iowa; her six grandchildren, Mitchell & April Klauer of Davenport, Benn Stockton of Des Moines, Iowa, Jeff & Shawn Wells of Ankeny and Jessica “Jessi” Wells of Bettendorf; her sisters, Jackie Muma & her husband, Chris in Florida and Karen Dodd & her husband, Bob in Missouri; her brother, Gerald Shorey & his wife, Susan in Florida; and many other family members & beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester & Maxine Shorey.
