Jerome W. Dahms, 76, a resident of Eldridge, Iowa died on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
A service to celebrate his life will be held at 4:00 P.M. Saturday, February 28, 2009 at the Chambers Funeral Home of Eldridge. The family will greet friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Clarissa Cook Hospice House.
He was born April 2, 1932 in Menomonie, Wisconsin, the son of Willard L. & Kathryn (Kichler) Dahms. In January of 1951, he was united in marriage to Joanne King in South St. Paul, Minnesota. On November 13, 1982, he was united in marriage to Joyce Keller in Beulah, North Dakota.
Jerome worked in the heating & air-conditioning business for many years. He had been a piping project manager, expeditor, purchasing agent and was also active in HVAC sales & consulting.
His memberships include the Eagle Lodge, Ducks Unlimited, the Lions Club and the Knights of Columbus.
Jerome was an avid outdoorsman, hunter & fisherman. He loved to do crossword puzzles and enjoyed the sport of curling.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Joyce; his daughter, Melissa Dahms Norsten & her husband, Mike of South St Paul; his son, Scott Dahms & his wife, Lillian of LeSeuer, Minnesota; his step-daughter, Marcia Bornemann & her husband James of Princeton, Iowa; his step-sons, Jeff Keller & his wife, Kelly of Beulah, North Dakota and Mark Keller of Beulah, North Dakota; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his brother, Thomas Dahms & his wife, Susan of South St. Paul; and his beloved canine companions, Max & Grace.
His parents preceded him in death.
