Jeromie Gass

A celebration of life service for Kevin “Jeromie” Gass, 42, of Machesney Park, IL, will be 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Family will greet friends on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has set up the “Kevin Jeromie Gass Memorial Fund” to benefit his children.

Kevin passed away on Wednesday May 5, 2021 in Bettendorf.

McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf is assisting family with arrangements.

Kevin was born on April 30, 1979 in Moline, IL, the son of Daniel and Kris Robinson. He married Courtney Marsh on November 20, 2020 in Rockford, IL.

Jeromie graduated from UTHS in East Moline and joined the Navy after graduation. After he left the Navy, he started his career as a paramedic at Illini Hospital.  He then transferred to Rockford. He pursued his longtime dream of becoming a Helicopter Paramedic for REACT in Rockford. He loved his job helping care for the critically ill and passing his knowledge onto those interested in the field.  Jeromie strived to learn more to increase his knowledge so that he could help more people.  He built strong relationships with his colleagues.  He took pride in his job and family, and always lived life to the fullest.

Jeromie adored his family and children.  From fishing trips, amusement parks, water parks, playing board games, and remodeling projects, he loved to have his children by his side.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to make those around him laugh.  He was happiest spending time with family, friends and his children.  He was most proud of passing on his love of fishing, cooking, music and movies to his children.

Jeromie is survived by his wife, Courtney; his six children, Logan, Conner, Owen, Eva, Liam, step-daughter, Alaina; his parents Daniel and Kristy Robinson; siblings, Andrew (Deanna) Lesthaeghe, Brandy (Jeff) Thompson, Amanda (Alex) Betts, Dustin Robinson, Nicole (Brian) DeKeyzer, Danielle (Eric) Samuelson, Zach (MaryJane) Holmlund, Kyle (Becky) Robinson, Kyle (Virginia) Ruark; maternal grandmother, his In-laws, numerous nieces and nephews; and his dog, Honey.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

There will also be Visitation and Celebration of Life on Thursday, May 13 at Sunset Funeral Home – 8800 N Alpine Road – Machesney Park, IL.   Visitation will be at 10:00 AM with celebration of life at 12:00 PM.
