Rev. Jerry Lee Poling, 74, of LeClaire, Iowa died on Saturday, May 1, 2010 surrounded by her beloved family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 6, 2010 at Calvary Chapel Foursquare Church in LeClaire. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Le Claire. Memorials may be made to the church.
She was born in Akron, Ohio on June 10, 1935, the daughter of John W. & Ruby D. (Harding) Reagan. On November 20, 1953, she was united in marriage to Rev. Harry W. Poling in Akron.
Jerry was a devoted wife, mother, grandma & great-grandma and was dearly loved by her entire family. She was a member of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel where she was also a licensed and ordained minister.
Her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. Angels also had a special place in her heart and she enjoyed collecting them over the years.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Harry; her daughters and sons-in-law, Vickie & Richard Logsdon, of Monmouth, Illinois and Mickie & Donald Chapman, of LeClaire; her sons and daughters-in-law, Harry & Diane Poling, Jr., of Rosedale, Indiana and Thomas & Deann Poling, of LeClaire; eleven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren with one expected soon; her sisters, Bonnie Pyle, of Akron and Sunya Prather, of Newcomberstown, Ohio; and her brother, John W.(Brenda) Reagan, Jr., of Akron.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Richard Reagan, of Orlando, Florida.
