Private family graveside services for Jessie Borgman, 100, of Bettendorf, IA, will take place at a later date at Glendale Cemetery, LeClaire, Iowa.
Jessie Borgman passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family and friends at Iowa Masonic Nursing Facility in Bettendorf, Iowa on October 14th, 2022.
Jessie was born in Fairfield, Iowa in 1921, graduated from Hillsboro High School in Hillsboro Iowa in 1939 and from Illinois State University in 1944. She taught business education at Fulton Illinois High School from 1944-1947. Jessie also worked for Fidelity Life Insurance in Fulton, IL from 1947 - 1952 and subsequently taught at LeClaire High School, Pleasant Valley High School and retired from Bettendorf High School in 1982. Throughout her teaching career, Jessie taught secretarial skills, typing, and also sponsored students who participated in Distributed Education Clubs of America.
Jessie was born Jessie Downs, Married Al Borgman in 1947 who pre deceased Jessie in 2005. Jessie is also predeceased by her sister Dorothy Huff, Roger Downs, and Delbert Downs.
Jessie is survived by her two sons Chuck Borgman and his wife Mindy of Denver, Colorado, Russ Borgman and his wife Emmy of Ho Ho Kus, NJ as well as six grand children and five great grandchildren.
Jessie and Al Borgman were long time residents of Le Claire, Iowa where Al owned and operated Omar Printing Company from 1954 until his retirement in 1981. Jessie was a lifelong member of LeClaire Presbyterian Church as well as an active member of the Retired Teachers Association local chapter.
We celebrate Jessie’s long life of over 100 years and she lives on in our memory for her kindness and compassion for others.
