Jessie L. Brammer Jr., 53, of Davenport, Iowa died Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 24, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Jessie was born January 7, 1960 in Davenport, the son of Jessie L. Sr. & Evelyn L. (Young) Brammer. He retired in 1996 from the Davenport Fire Department after 17 years of service. During his service, he was awarded the Fire Service Medal of Valor and Achievement.
Jessie was an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He will be remembered for his quick sense of humor, his high opinion and how he made those around him laugh. He had a soft heart towards all children and a love of animals.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Nichole “Nikki” Brammer of Davenport, his son, William "Will" Brammer of Moline; his step-daughters, Amanda Dreifurst of Moline, Kayle Hoke and Brandy Verbout of Davenport; two step-grandchildren, Adeline Cale and Alice Verbout; his sister, Ronda Flores of Davenport; his brothers, Larry (Laura) Brammer of Davenport and James Brammer of Moberly, Missouri; and his grandmother, Mel Young of Kahoka, Missouri.
Jessie was preceded in death by his parents.
