Jessie Gail Rada, 98, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died on Sunday, April 29, 2007 at Crest Health Center in Davenport, Iowa.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Oakdale Memorial Gardens, Davenport. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
She was born October 29, 1908 in Washington, Iowa, the daughter of Clayton Charles & Isalin (George) Rupp. On July 12, 1924, she was united in marriage to Edward B. Rada in Davenport. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1967.
Jessie was employed as a cashier at the former Eagle’s Market in Bettendorf, retiring in October of 1969.
She was a member of the Bettendorf Senior Citizens and a member of the Davenport Order of the Eastern Star #178 for over 50 years.
Jessie was an avid Chicago Cubs fan, enjoyed fishing trips with her husband and dearly loved her dogs.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Marilyn (George) Andrews and Lois (DeWayne) Williams, all of Davenport; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Edward John and Harry Eugene; three granddaughters; one brother; one step-brother; and one half-brother.
