Jewel Volquardsen

Nelle Jewel Volquardsen, 94, a resident of Davenport, died Monday, October 21, 2013 at St. Mary Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center in Davenport.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery in Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services on Friday. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
Born on March 31, 1919 in Clinton, she was the daughter of Arthur and Sadie (Wells) Keith. On March 20, 1955 in Clinton, she married John H. Volquardsen. He preceded her in death on June 1, 1986.
Jewel was a graduate of Cornell College in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. She enjoyed art and politics. Jewel cherished her time spent with family.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Mary Evelyn Volquardsen of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one brother, Ward Keith.
