Jo A. Damron, 61, a resident of Princeton, Iowa died Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at her home.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Princeton, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Oakridge Cemetery, Princeton, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or to the family. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jo was born December 2, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of John and Betty (Haddix) Kelly Sr. She was united in marriage to Thomas Damron on October 2, 1976 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Jo worked for many years as a librarian at the Princeton branch of the Scott County Library.
She loved music, traveling, playing euchre, being with friends and family and her grandchildren.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Thomas; her daughters, Tammy (Tim) Stewart, Sterling, Illinois, Tracy (Thomas) Sharp, Silvis, Illinois, Tricia Hase, St. Louis, Missouri, Toni (Richard) Hendricksen, Eldridge, Iowa and Jodi (Mohamed Toulba) Damron-Loquist, Rock Island, Illinois; her son, Thomas (Jan) Damron Jr., South Carolina; eighteen grandchildren; her sisters, Julia (Robert) Menard, House Springs, Missouri and Peggy (Les) Dill, Maryland Heights, Missouri; her brother John (Jeri) Kelly Jr., Fenton, Missouri; her sisters-in-law, Patricia A. Damron, Daytona, Florida and Susan Lynn Johnson, Jacksonville, Florida; her niece Shawna Mitchell, Jacksonville, Florida; her dog, Lucky and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty, her nephew, Joshua Menard and her grandchildren, Shelby Armold, Star Loquist and Marcus Edward Damron.
