Joan K. Breheny

Joan K. Breheny, 67, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Sunday, May 23, 2004 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, May 27, 2004 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf where she was a member. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the Scott County Humane Society.
She was born January 30, 1937 in Ottumwa, Iowa. On April 6, 1969, she was united in marriage to Edward J. Breheny in Galena, Illinois.
Joan & her husband owned & operated the “Knight’s Inn” on Central Ave. in Bettendorf for over25 years. She loved spending time in her “backyard” and loved to attend Cubs/Cardinals baseball games.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Ed; her daughter & son-in-law, Judy & Jerry Johnston of Pittsboro, North Carolina; her sons & daughters-in-law, Norman & Alana Elsasser of Thousand Oaks, California, Gregory & Lisa Elsasser of San Bernadino, California and Jeffrey Breheny & his companion, Wendy Blair of Bettendorf; her step-daughters, Susan Nickoletto and Sally Breheny-Foran, both of Davenport; her step-sons, Mark Breheny & his wife, Terri of Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Terry Breheny & his wife, Melissa of Rock Island; ten grandchildren; and her sister, Helen VanGorp of Oskaloosa, Iowa.
Joan was preceded in death by her brothers, Eddie, Doc & Lloyd.
