Joann Clark

Joann M. Clark, 72, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Friday, April 27, 2012 at the Forest Hill Nursing Center in East Moline, Illinois.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. She will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

She was born August 17, 1939 in LeClaire, Iowa, the beloved daughter of Bernhardt & Etta Mae (Gage) Rath. On September 3, 1977, she was united in marriage to Wayne Clark in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2007.

Joann was a devoted homemaker and enjoyed babysitting for children in her home. She loved going to church, socializing with her many friends, traveling and listening to Elvis.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Cheryl (Anthony) Sheets of Wilton, Iowa and Dorothy Darland of Clarence, Iowa; her sons, Richard Cornwell in Missouri and Bradley DeVore of Davenport, Iowa; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; her sisters, Norma Green in Florida and Janice McDonald of Rock Island, Illinois; her brothers, Charles Rath of Clinton, Iowa and Ronald Rath of Wilton, Iowa; her close and special friend, Cindy Gryp of Davenport; along with many other relatives and wonderful friends.

In addition to her husband, Joann was preceded in death by her brothers, Gary Rath and Robert Rath; her great-grandson, Shawn; and her parents.
