Joanne M. Lund, 57, of Eldridge, passed away on Friday, September 23, 2011 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf after a long battle with cancer.
A memorial gathering to celebrate her life will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Chambers Funeral Home in Eldridge. Inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Joanne was born April 22, 1954 in Waltham, Massachusetts, the daughter of Paul & Millie (King) Coyle. She grew up in Maynard, Massachusetts and was a graduate of Maynard High School. She met her future husband at work. On June 22, 1974, Joanne was united in marriage to Ronald C. Lund in Maynard at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church.
Joann was a homemaker and provided child day care for many years. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving wife, best friend and a loving and caring mother.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband of thirty-seven years, Ronald; her children, Tom Lund (Lori Sattizahn) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Stacey Smith (Herb) of Eldridge and Sandra Lund, Ronald Lund II (Angela) and Samantha Lund (Mark Erps), all of Davenport; ten grandchildren; her parents, Paul & Millie Coyle of Eldridge; and several siblings, two of whom were very special, Rick Coyle of Toledo, Iowa and Judy King of Ablers, Illinois.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gerald Clamon, Nurse Mary Ellen and the medical staff at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics for the wonderful care they had given her.
