Jodi L. Hamilton, 44, of LeClaire passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Jodi’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.

 A celebration of life service will be held in the Starlite Ballroom at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. Doors will open at 4:00 p.m. and a time for gathering to celebrate Jodi will be after the service until 8:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided during that time. Memorials may be directed to LeClaire 4H or to ImpactLife of Scott County. McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 Jodi was born on August 30, 1980, in Davenport, the daughter of Steven and Dawn (Dirksen) Hamilton. Following her graduation in 1998 from Pleasant Valley High School, she attended the University of Iowa. Jodi worked as the director of hotel development and support services for Frontier Hospitality Group. On October 10, 2024, she became engaged to her soul mate and best friend, Steve Wassenhove.

Jodi was a true gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a beautiful soul who embodied love, loyalty to her friends and family, and a zest for life that was unmatched. Jodi never shied away from new adventures or experiences. She loved traveling and cherished the time she spent with her family and countless friends. Jodi will be greatly missed and remembered for her selfless demeanor, fun loving attitude, and most importantly for the love she had for those who were lucky enough to call her their friend. 

 Those left to honor her memory are her fiancé, Steve Wassenhove of LeClaire; her mother, Dawn Hamilton of LeClaire; siblings, Kristin (Brad) Chenoweth of Cottontown, Tennessee and Seth (Joslyn) Hamilton of LeClaire; nieces and nephew, Isabella and Maggie Chenoweth, Isaiah Hamilton; step-children, Payton Wassenhove and Avery (Moises Calderon) Wassenhove, all of Muscatine; step-grandson, Ryan Calderon; mother-in-law, Pat Wassenhove of Coal Valley, Illinois; and sister-in-law, Cindy (Derek) Murphy of LeClaire; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many loving family members and friends.

 She was preceded in death by her father, Steve Hamilton, and her husband, Scott Madison.
