JoEllen Drusilla Ford, 83, a resident of Davenport, died Sunday, November 19, 2017 in LeClaire.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Burial will be at Blue Grass Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21st at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the VFW National Home for Children.

Born May 17, 1934 in Blue Grass, JoEllen was the daughter of Thomas LeRoy “Roy” and Esther Corrine (Mounts) Dodds. JoEllen was married to Roy Elgin Royce; they later divorced. She then married Robert Glennon Ford; they later divorced.

JoEllen retired from Bowlmor Lanes in 1999, Target in 2003 and the Davenport Police Department as a crossing guard in 2012. JoEllen was an active member of the Bettendorf VFW Post 9128 Auxiliary, where she held numerous offices at local, district and state levels. She enjoyed crocheting, making her famous pies. JoEllen was an avid bowler. She cherished her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Deborah Royse of East Moline, Donna Royse of Des Moines, Dorie (Gregory) Williams of Marino Valley, California, Drusilla “Dru” (Michael) Novak of Walcott, and Deena (Dennis) Donnelly of St. Louis, Missouri; son, Dennis (Crystal) Royse of Davenport; step-children, Kathy Mack of Davenport, Joseph “Pat” (Winnie) Ford of Colona, Illinois, Karen (Rick) Allen of Davenport, and Linda (Don) Sharar of Blue Grass; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Rosemary Anderson of Las Vegas, Nevada; sister-in-law, Shirley Dodds of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Robert and Donald; son-in-law, James Manning; grandchildren, Austin and Caralyn Manning; great-granddaughter, Genesis Williams; and a step-son, Mike Ford.
