John Howard Curry, 59, of Davenport, IA, died March 3, 2013 in his home.
A memorial service is being planned and will be announced in the future. Memorials can be made to the Curry family.
John was born December 30, 1953 in Peoria, IL, to Norman N. Curry and Doris J. Curry.
John was a part owner of McKay Music Co. in Davenport and Moline. John worked in the family business for many years at both locations. John’s passion was helping people of all ages learn and enjoy making music. His main emphasis was in the guitar and combo department which nurtured hundreds of local musicians. Keoni’s Recording Studio, operating out of the basement of McKay Music on Brady Street, was one of the first indie recording studios in the Quad Cities. John will be missed by the Quad Cities music community.
He was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother. John leaves behind two brothers, Stan (Colleen) and Jeff (Caroline); a sister, Jane Ridenhower; a nephew, Jayson and a niece, Nicole.
