John T. “Ghost” Dilly, 45, of Davenport, passed away Wednesday June 19, 2013 at the University of Iowa Hospitals.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be 2:00 PM Saturday June 29, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the family.
John was born February 26, 1968, in Okinawa, Japan, the son of Harvey and Audrey Dilly. He united in marriage to Sherrie Ankney on September 25, 1999 in Davenport. John worked as a melting operator at Nichols Aluminum for 16 years. He was part of the thirty and above softball league down at Credit Island Park, enjoyed singing karaoke, watching all the Chicago sports teams, and helping with the kids. John enjoyed living life and especially making people smile.
John will be remembered by his wife Sherrie Dilly; daughters Courtney Ankney and Whitney Miller; sons Sidney Ankney and Andrew; grandchild Nola Garrels; three sisters: Lana (Sergio) Martinez, Lorraine Dilly, and Amy (Todd) Anderson; brother Harvey “Buddy” Dilly; and many nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his parents.
