John Frahm

John Frahm, 75, of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery in Davenport.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners Hospitals for Children.

John was born May 28, 1940 in Davenport, the son of Theodore & Cora Ella (Hamann) Frahm.  He was united in marriage to Dee D. Hodges on December 23, 1981 in Davenport.

A lifelong farmer starting at age 18, John had many outdoor interests.  In high school, he was a member of the ROTC and enjoyed rifle shooting.  He fished for trout, could recognize the type of bird from its whistle and had a love for all animals, except varmits.  He had had pet rabbits and a raccoon at one time.  John liked flowers, especially roses, hostas and gardenias and collected four-leaf clovers.  John enjoyed going to the state fairs, attending farm program shows and keeping up with farm equipment.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Dee; one sister and two brothers.

John was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
