John Kilbourne (Aka Kilburne)

John L. Kilbourne (AKA Kilburne), a resident of Davenport, Iowa, died Monday, May 28, 2012 at his residence.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 4, 2012 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Graveside services with military honors will follow at the Rock Island National Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.

John was born August 5, 1952 in Lynch, Kentucky, the son of Luther & Imogene (Sturgil) Kilbourne.  He was united in marriage to Carmen Fullmer on June 23, 2006 in Valparaiso, Indiana.

John served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1970.

He was employed with England Steel Mill for thirty years.  Upon his retirement, he was a semi driver for C.R. England, J.B. Hunt & Wenger for six years.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Carmen Kilburne; his daughter, Shannon (Joe) Bircher, Blanca (Derik) Carlson and Lauren; his sons, Erik Kilbourne, Adalberto (Ashley) Cortez, John Kilbourne and Celestino Liebe; his grandchildren, Brycen & Hunter Carlson, Charlie, Amanda and Bronco Kilbourne, Jenna Bircher, Erik Jr., Alyssa & Desteny Kilbourne, Aiden Cortez, Alex & Dilan Kilbourne; and three great-grandchildren, Christina, Billy & Cloey.

John was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Darrel; his brother, Darrel Kilbourne; and his grandparents.
