John Newcomb

John J. “Johnny” Newcomb, 55, of Davenport, passed away unexpectantly on Monday, November 25, 2013 at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be held an hour before the services. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the family.
John was born March 3, 1958 in Davenport, the son of John & Elizabeth “Betty” (Dismer) Newcomb.
John was employed with McNamara Family Property Development. He had formerly worked with his father with John Newcomb and Son Contracting for many years.
He enjoyed cars and racing cars in earlier years at the Cordova Dragway. He also enjoyed fishing and bowling. A loving son, he had always put his mother first.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Kasey Lee; his mother, Elizabeth; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Vicki & Jerry Meyer, Connie & Ernie Seitz and Debbie Pavano; his brother-in-law, John Masengarb; and several nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his father, John; and his sister, Barbara Masengarb.
