John E. Galle, 57, a resident of East Moline, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, November 27, 2007.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 1, 2007 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. As per the families wishes cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Memorials may be made to the family.
John was born on November 19, 1950 in Geneseo, Illinois, the son of Jacob and Marjorie (King) Galle. He was united in marriage to Kim Galle on October 6, 1973 in Rock Island, Illinois. They later were divorced, but remained very close friends.
John served with the United States Marine Corps in the Viet Nam War. He was a retiree of John Deere where he worked for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, friends and had a great sense or humor. He loved his children and grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Sunny (Mike) Blaesi of Donahue, IA and Kari Galle and her fiancé, Trevor Slater of Three Rivers, Michigan; his son, Jai Galle and his fiancé, Amanda Meier of Davenport; his grandchildren, Ashlee and Aiden; his former wife Kim Galle; his sisters Betty Galle of Geneseo and Linda Mullum of Annawan, Illinois and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Francis and Jim; his sister Mary and an infant sister, Debbie.
