Johnnie E. Mulvania, 79, of Pleasant Valley, Iowa, and formerly of Mercer, Missouri and LeClaire, Iowa, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at Riverview Manor Nursing Center in Pleasant Valley. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Monday, December 19, 2005 at Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Home in Princeton, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. on Saturday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf, and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Monday in Princeton. Burial will be in Fairley Cemetery in Princeton. Memorials may be made to the Fairley Cemetery Association.
Johnnie was born October 27, 1926 in Mercer, Missouri, the son of Roy & Clara (Shields) Mulvania. He was united in marriage to Edith Greenup on March 22, 1947 in Yuma, Arizona. She preceded him in death in 1998.
Johnnie retired in 1978 from the John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois, where he had been employed for over thirty years. During World War II, he served in the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged in 1946.
Johnnie enjoyed traveling, camping, spending time with his beloved family, and tending to his tomato garden.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda & Donald Phillips, of LeClaire, Iowa; his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary & Patti Mulvania of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, and Edward & Nong Mulvania of Fullerton, California; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister Beulah Grace Purcell, of Trenton, Missouri; and his brother and sister-in-law, Laurel & Linda Mulvania, of Ravanna, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Evelyn Davis; and his brothers, Clarence, Wilbur, and Robert.
