Johnny Ring

Johnny C. Ring, 79, of LeClaire, died Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Pleasant Valley.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2011 at Davenport Memorial Park in Davenport. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 25 th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the LeClaire Fire Department or the Buffalo Bill Museum.
Johnny was born December 23, 1931 in Bettendorf, the son of Axel and Laura (Huscko) Ring. On September 18, 1954, Johnny married Bonnie Louise Matlock at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Bettendorf.
Johnny worked at Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf where he was an inspector and supervisor. He retired in 1998 after 52 years of faithful service. Johnny served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War Conflict. He was member of the VFW Post #9128 in Bettendorf. Johnny had a passion for woodworking. He enjoyed fishing and working in the yard.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Louise Ring of LeClaire, Iowa; one sister Patricia Crowley of Cedar Bluff, Iowa; many nieces and nephews; and his special miniature schnauzer, Missy.
Johnny was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Anna King and Sophie Tysma.
