John W. “Babo” Mead, 52, of Buffalo, Iowa, died Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Rose Hill Cemetery, Buffalo. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Friday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the family.
John was born October 24, 1954 in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Chester Charles & Bertha Jean (Cross) Mead. He was retired from The Hon Company in Muscatine after 19 years of service. He enjoyed life to its fullest and will be missed by his family and friends.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughters, Chas Staley, and her husband, Jeff, of Muscatine, Iowa, and Jamie Lea Mead, of Davenport; three grandchildren; his mother, Bertha Jean Mead, of Davenport; his brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Judy Mead, of Davenport; and his cousins, Terry and LuAnn Devetter, of Austin, Texas.
John was preceded in death by his father, Chester; and his son, Jesse Charles Mead on September 20, 2001
