Jon Allbee

October 19, 1966 — November 2, 2014

Jon Allbee, 48, a resident of LeClaire, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at Our Lady of the River Catholic Church in LeClaire. Burial will be at Jack’s Cemetery in rural LeClaire. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 7 th at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Memorials may be made to the family.

Jon was born on October 19, 1966 in Davenport, the son of Jerry L., Sr. and Cheryl L. (Tripp) Allbee. On May 30, 1998 at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Davenport, he married Cindy Markham.

Jon currently worked for Valley Construction in Rock Island as a quality control manager. Jon spent two years in Afghanistan as a civilian contractor at Camp Leatherneck assisting with the rebuilding of local infrastructure.

Jon loved riding Harleys and watching football and NASCAR. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Cindy; sons, Dustan Allbee of LeClaire and Austin Allbee of Davenport; mother, Cheryl Allbee of LeClaire; maternal grandmother, F. Kathryn Tripp of LeClaire; sister, Bobbie (Mike) Goetsch of LeClaire; brothers, Jerry “Jay” (Louise) Allbee of LeClaire, Don (Julie) Allbee of LeClaire and David (Rachel) Allbee of Park View; and a brother-in-law, Scott Markham of Eden Prairie, MN.

He was preceded in death by his father and son, Joshua.
