Josephine H. (Josie) Ramm, 88, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa died Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Bettendorf Health Care Center, Bettendorf,
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the time of service Tuesday. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park, Davenport, Iowa. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bettendorf Health Care Center Activities Department.
Josie was born May 9, 1923 in Eldridge, Iowa the daughter of Joseph and Hilda (Wulf) Engelbrecht. She was united in marriage to Mervin Ramm in Davenport, Iowa on February 28, 1944. He preceded her in death on June 11, 1995.
She worked for Lewis Cleaners in the Village of Davenport and later for Brammer Manufacturing, Davenport retiring in 1986.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW and past member of the Eagles Club, American Legion, Northwest Turners and the East Davenport Turners.
She enjoyed camping, traveling, playing cards, gardening and canning.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters, Mary (Lewis) Wells, Bettendorf, Betty (Frank) Ratzlaff, Davenport, Shirley Conklin, Bettendorf and Billie (Jerry) Daughenbaugh, The Villages, Florida; her son, John Ramm, Bettendorf; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her half-sister-in-law, Donna Struck, Davenport; her half-brother-in-law, Fred (Judi) Struck, Viola, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews and her special friend, Donald Bowker.
In addition to her husband, Mervin, she was preceded in death by her parents.
