Joy Ann Tucker, 92, of Davenport, Iowa, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 19, 2007 at Clinkingbeard Funeral Home in Ava, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf, Iowa and from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Ava. Burial will be in Ava Cemetery, Ava. Memorials may be made to the Buffalo, Iowa Volunteer Ambulance Service or to the Buffalo Senior Citizens Club.
Joy was born August 21, 1914 in Ainsworth, Iowa, the daughter of William & Albia K. (Burich) Lopshire. She was united in marriage to Edward Harold Tucker on January 7, 1936. He preceded her in death on March 19, 1985.
Joy, along with her husband, owned and operated Tucker’s Orchard in Buffalo for many years. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Buffalo Senior Citizens Club, where she was a member. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judith K. & Earl Mead, of Davenport, Linda L. & Van Curtis of Ava, and Rebecca S. Abbott of Wellington, Missouri; her sons and daughters-in-law, James E. & Beverly Tucker, of Kimberlin City, Missouri, Jerry D. & Judith Tucker of Montpelier, Iowa, and Tommy J. & Sharon Tucker, of Buffalo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and her sister and brother-in-law, Della & Bob Manley, of Coneville, Iowa.
In addition to her husband, Edward; Joy was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Sandra Ann; and seven sisters and brothers.
