Joyce E. DeCock, 75, of Long Grove, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at her home.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at the Long Grove Community Center in Long Grove, Iowa.
Joyce was born August 31, 1949 in Ottumwa, the daughter of Raymond & Veronica (Crall) Coughlin. She was united in marriage to Richard C. “Dick” DeCock on April 7, 1973 in Long Grove. Joyce had been a bookkeeper with Jerry’s Electric in DeWitt for several years and had been a caregiver for the elderly in recent years.
Joyce and Dick had operated a petting zoo at Scott County Park where they had showcased many exotic and farming animals.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dick; her siblings, Ron (Pat) Coughlin of Eldridge, Jean (Danny) Curran of Melrose, Robert (Rita) Coughlin of Georgetown and Mary Pat (Buck) Fry of Albia; several nieces and nephews; her brothers-in-law, Mike Ogle of Albia, Ron DeCock of Iowa City and Dale (Annabelle) DeCock of Eldridge; and her sister-in-law, Barb DeCock of Davenport
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Julie Ogle; her parents-in-law, Charles and Norma DeCock; her sister-in-law, Nelda (Keith) Dice; and her brother-in-law, Denny DeCock.
