Judie L. Hazen

Funeral services for Judie L. Hazen, 79, of Davenport, will be 1:00 pm on Sunday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Family will greet friends on Sunday from 12:00 pm to service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Rock Island National Cemetery a 11:00 am Monday. Those wishing to attend the burial will meet at McGinnis-Chambers on Monday at 10:30 am.

Judie passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024, at Genesis Medical Center – East Campus, Davenport.

Judie was born on August 14, 1944, in Davenport, the daughter of Herbert Creighton and was raised by her grandparents, Freda and Isaac Creighton. She married Donald L. Hazen on July 16, 1977, in Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 8, 2006. She owned a  private detective agency, prior to being a bartender for the Mississippi Hotel, and the Iowana Ice Cream Store.

Judie was a member of the P.T.A., Boy Scouts and Moose Lodge. She enjoyed bingo, traveling, RVing, country music, karaoke, and being activities director for her RV Park in Yuma, AZ.

Survivors include her daughter, Kathie Lorscheider of Ozark, Missouri; her sons, Shawn H. Wogomon of Davenport, Donald L. (Deborah) Hazen Jr., Jeffrey (Debbie) Hazen of Davenport; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, sisters, Marie Franzen, Sue Ruggeberg, Freida Creighton, Julie Whitcomb, Barb Powell and brothers, Jerry Creighton, and Herbert Creighton Jr.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandparents, husband, daughter, Karen Westervelt, her grandson, Sergio Wogomon, sister, Mary Brooks, brother, Allen Creighton, several aunts and uncles.
