Judith Tilton Kimball, 78, a resident of Rock Island, Illinois died on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at her home following her long, courageous, and graceful journey with Alzheimer's.

Services will be private.  McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home of Bettendorf, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.

Judy was born in Zanesville, Ohio on July 17, 1936, the daughter of Dr. Louis & Eloise (Meitzler) Tilton and was a 1954 graduate of Frazeysburg High School (Ohio) and a 1958 graduate of Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio where she was a member of Chi Omega Sorority.  On August 2, 1959, she was united in marriage to Jason S. Kimball Jr. in Frazeysburg, Ohio.  He preceded her in death on August 31, 1983.

She was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1999 after 18 years of faithful service.  Prior to that, she was a librarian at Sherrard Junior High School and a math teacher at Winola High School.

Her family was her pride and joy.  She loved supporting her sons and attending their athletic events.  Her sons and grandchildren always brought a smile to her face, even in her advanced stages of Alzheimer's.  The family would like to thank the staff at Home Instead Senior Care and Hospice Compassus for their exceptional care of Judy.  They would especially like to thank caregiver Maria Craig for her endless devotion and dedication to Judy and for never giving up on her.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Keith (Christy) Kimball of Bettendorf, Iowa and Mark (Michelle) Kimball of Orion, Illinois; her grandchildren, Kyle Kimball, Korey Kimball, Taylor Kimball and Cole Kimball; and her sisters, Nancy Forker of Zanesville, Ohio, Margot (Peggy) (David) Wright of Frazeysburg, Ohio and Betsy (Jake) Adams of Beaverton, Oregon.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parent
