Judson R. “Judd” Moon I, 57, a resident of Bettendorf, Iowa and formerly of Des Moines, Iowa died on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at his home.
A gathering to celebrate his life will be held from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 28, 2010 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Interment will be private. Memorials may be made to the family.
He was born July 3, 1952 in Des Moines, the son of Hugh W. & E. Tamsen (Shelton) Moon and was a 1970 graduate of North High School in Des Moines. Judd was united in marriage to Debra J. True in Milan, Illinois in 1978.
In recent years, he was employed as the manager of A-Storage in Bettendorf and was also employed as a courier at the Quad-City International Airport delivering lost or missing luggage. In earlier years, Judd worked as a printer for the former DeSaulniers Printing Company of Milan for many years and as an area sales representative for home improvement products.
His interest & activities were many & varied. He was an avid gardener who enjoyed making salsa each year as the tomatoes ripened, loved to cook and was an animal lover (especially his dogs). Judd enjoyed boating, fishing, playing golf and visiting with his many friends. Another favorite activity was watching movies at home and if you stopped by to visit, you could count on watching a movie with Judd.
Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Emily Moon of Sherrard, Illinois & her son, Cohwen Hanneman; his son, Judson R. (Jennifer) Moon II of Woodstock, Illinois and their son, Judson T. Moon; his sister, Carol (Joe) Celsi of Bettendorf; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Keith, Jack & Gene; his sister, Gail; and his parents.
