Judy Ann McIntire, 58, a resident of Davenport, Iowa died on Monday evening at her home following a courageous battle with lung cancer surrounded by her beloved family.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2009 at the McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Chapel in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Genesis Hospice.
She was born September 2, 1950 in Anderson, Missouri, the daughter of Harold & Margie Hall and was a graduate of Davenport Central High School. On January 12, 1974, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Paul Bruce McIntire at St. Johns United Methodist Church of Davenport where she & Bruce are still members.
Judy was a devoted wife, loving mom & grandma whose family was the center of her life. She took great pride in her flower garden, enjoyed the Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan years, loved to watch professional boxing and had a tremendous & enjoyable sense of humor.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Bruce; her daughter, Andrea (Michael) Obert of Bettendorf; her son, Mark (Leslie) McIntire of Davenport; her step-son, Michael McIntire of Westchester, Iowa; her grandchildren, Ethan, Scarlet, Margaret, Evan, Jack, Tony, Alex & Rachel; her sisters, Carolyn Klemme and Frayetta Hall, both of Davenport; her brother, Johnnie Price of Davenport; and many, many wonderful friends including her very special friend, Karen Ledbetter of Effingham, Illinois.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Luther Hall.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses & staff of Genesis Medical Center for their professional and compassionate care shown to Judy during her illness. Their kindness will never be forgotten.
