Julia Sindt

Julia M. Sindt, 81, of Davenport passed away on Monday, March 30, 2020 at her residence.

Private family services will be held at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.  Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Julia was born on May 23, 1938 in Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Florence (Bolsinger) Davis.  She graduated from the former Lincoln High School in Davenport.  On September 1, 1956 she married Allen D. Sindt in Davenport.  She worked for Bramers and Oscar Mayer. Julia later co-owned and operated Julia & Al’s bar with her husband, until her retirement in 1999.  She enjoyed going to the casino and playing Bingo, as well as traveling with her husband and family.  Julia was a devoted member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Davenport.

Those left to honor her memory are her son, Bruce Sindt, daughter, Connie Sindt; 5 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter; and siblings, Calleen Hesseltine, Al Davis, Gerald Davis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, and siblings, Delores “Dee” Nefzger, Larry Davis, and Arthur “Artie” Davis.
